What is ASP?
ASP stands for Active Server Pages. This is a type of HTML coding which includes java scripts or ActiveX components. Active Server Pages only function on Windows NT servers.
Are there alternatives to ASP?
Yes. HTML, SHTML, or any other standardized HTML based
markup language.
Does your Win2k server support Perl?
We use ActivePerl to handle .cgi and .pl scripts. You would place the .cgi or .pl files in the cgi-bin of your account and e-mail sales@HostSG to activate Perl handling for that directory. If you have any special instructions for setting up the Perl handling for your .cgi or .pl please include them in the e-mail.
How do I access my statistics on NT?
Currently, there is no statistics software provided
on the account. However you are recommend to search
and install statistic software for your own usage.
How do I password protect directories?
Because of the nature of Windows 2000 security permissions, directory access control must be mediated by the Systems Administrators of HostSG. You may request a protected directory by e-mailing support@HostSG. Please include the following information:
Location of the directory you wish to have password
protected
Username and password for the directory
Users you wish to have access to the directory
If you require IP specific restriction
Can
I use mSQL, MSSQL and MySQL?
Yes, our designer account and above are allowed to use
mSQL.

What
third party software can I install on my Windows hosting
account?
The software must be reviewed by the systems administrators
of HostSG before the software may be considered for installation.
The Systems Administrators will determine if the software
is at risk of causing a conflict with another software
package. There is an installation fee that will be quoted
prior to installation of the software. If the quote
is agreeable, then the software will be installed. HostSG
WILL NOT PROVIDE TECH-SUPPORT FOR SOFTWARE WHICH IS
CUSTOM INSTALLED.
You must provide the following information:
Location of software to be installed
Provide any licensing information required for installation
Can I Telnet with Windows 2000?
No.
